In the next two weeks a delegation of MBA students from the Berlin Professional School – HWR Berlin, Marvin G?ldner of the Startup Incubator Berlin and me, we are visiting our partner universities in NYC and Wichita, Ks. - the 21st year of this amazing cooperation with the Barton School of Business in Wichita. I am looking forward to meeting the professors and students, the entrepreneurs, and Mayor Lily Wu of Wichita to explore common ways of management education. In recognition of the honor I had last year (speaking at the City Assembly of Wichita) I changed my profile picture for the next two weeks. The Barton School of Business at Wichita State has been the driving force behind some of the brightest minds and biggest ideas of the past 100 years. Located in the brand new Woolsey Hall on the innovation campus, it is the School of Business for Wichita State University. Combining the widest range of undergraduate degrees in the state and virtually unlimited learning opportunities (thanks to Kansas' largest business community), it's no surprise that employers continue to show a preference for hiring Barton School graduates.

The Barton School of Business was proud to host the BID Conference, presented by the Better Academic and Social Excellence (BAASE) program. This powerful event brought together Wichita’s 7th–12th grade students to explore the value of higher education, confront challenges, and gain practical strategies to achieve academic and professional success. Through keynote speakers, breakout discussions, and interactive workshops, the BID Conference empowered students to reshape their college journey, understand the long-term impact of education, and begin preparing for their future—today. We extend our thanks to the dedicated BAASE leaders and collaborators who made this event possible and meaningful: Kyle Ellison, Corinthian Kelly, MPA, Brandon Johnson, Cameron Morgan, Tamarea Jacques, Bobby Berry, Ed.D. (He/Him/His), Donovan McClellan, Tyrone Berry, Bradley Dyer, Jr., and Darryl Kelly Jr. This is what it looks like when community, education, and leadership come together to inspire the next generation. #BartonSchoolofBusiness #WSUBusiness #BAASE #BIDConference #CollegeAccess #FutureLeaders #StudentSuccess #HigherEducation #GoShox Alexander Ziegler

I was delighted to welcome Dan Uhre, Vice President of Manufacturing Technology at Pandora, as a guest speaker today.???Students from my undergraduate finance and Master of Science in Business Analytics courses at the Barton School of Business, Wichita State University, attended and were highly engaged throughout the session. Pandora is a remarkable company, and Dan provided fascinating insights into its vision, growth strategy, and digital transformation journey. He also highlighted key recent achievements, including: -?Being ranked among the 100 most valuable and sustainable brands (Interbrand); -?Recognized as one of the world’s most sustainable companies (TIME Magazine & Statista); -?Selling 113 million pieces of jewelry in 2024, driving strong revenue and EPS growth.
