  • ??? This Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting extraordinary women in our F&E CWEL community! ??? ?? Meet Daylana Ervin-Parker: Director, Budget and Supplier Diversity at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts & F&E CWEL Advisory Board Member ?? Their take on women’s leadership: "Women’s leadership is demonstrated daily in my life. I see it in my family members, friends, work colleagues, peers, and acquaintances. Women’s leadership is not based on a hierarchical level or functional title, but rather it is action oriented. My mother was the first example of women’s leadership I saw in action. She was the driving force behind the decision making in the family. She also understood that our family was a team, and each member contributed to its success. My mother always encouraged and empowered each family member to have a voice and to share their perspective in the decision making. She was skillful at making sure everyone was a part of her vision and understood their role in bringing it to fruition. No one felt left out of the decision making because she was masterful at reaching back and pulling others forward in the process. She knew how to strike the delicate balance of having the final say in a decision while making others feel like they contributed to the decision. Her example of leadership helped shape and influence my own collaborative leadership style of building partnerships and encouraging teamwork. It has also contributed greatly to my strong ability to connect with and empower others. In retrospect, I realize that my mother was teaching me a masterclass in women’s leadership all along." ?? • ??? This Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting extraordinary women in our F&E CWEL community! ??? ?? Meet Diana Hechavarria: Professor of Entrepreneurship at Babson College & Diana International Research Institute (DIRI) Senior Scholar ?? Their take on women’s leadership: "Women’s leadership, to me, is about creating sustainable, systemic change that not only opens doors for those who follow but also reshapes the structures that define access to leadership in the first place. It’s about using knowledge, influence, and mentorship to build inclusive spaces where diverse voices are not just heard but valued. I embody this in my work as a professor of entrepreneurship, researcher, and academic leader by actively shaping conversations about women’s entrepreneurship, inclusion, and institutional change. Through my research, I explore the structural barriers women face in entrepreneurship and how we can foster more equitable opportunities. As an editor for the International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship (IJGE) and a leader within the Diana International Research Institute (DIRI), I work to elevate scholarship that centers women's voices, experiences, and innovations in entrepreneurship. Beyond research, leadership for me is also about mentorship and institutional impact. I work closely with doctoral students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, to help them navigate academia, refine their research, and develop their careers. At Babson College, I integrate inclusive teaching and real-world applications into my courses, ensuring that students not only learn about entrepreneurship but also understand how to build ventures that drive meaningful change. My commitment to women’s leadership also extends beyond academia. I am an active member of the Junior League of Boston, where I serve as co-chair of the Signature Events Committee, helping to organize our annual Après Ski Fundraiser. This role has allowed me to apply my expertise in strategic planning, fundraising, and community engagement to support the League’s mission of empowering women leaders and investing in local initiatives. The League has been a powerful space to collaborate with like-minded women, drive impact in the Boston community, and further develop my leadership skills in a nonprofit setting. Ultimately, women’s leadership is about creating a legacy that extends beyond individual success—it’s about lifting others as we climb, challenging the status quo, and ensuring that leadership itself becomes more accessible, inclusive, and representative. Whether through research, mentorship, teaching, or community engagement, I strive to lead in ways that not only empower but also transform the systems around us." ?? Join the conversation! • ??? This Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting extraordinary women in our F&E CWEL community! ??? ?? Meet Alycia M. Huston: Founder of The Culture Cru & BWEL Alumna ?? Their take on women’s leadership: "Don’t compromise who you are to fit into someone else’s idea of a leader. Be unapologetically yourself - your instincts, your insights, and your experiences are your superpowers. Surround yourself with people who challenge and champion you, and don’t be afraid to speak up even when your voice shakes. Leadership isn’t about having every answer; it’s about staying curious, learning from others, and building a vision you believe in. Trust and know that you already belong in the room and if anyone doubts it, that’s exactly why you need to be there." ?? Join the conversation! • ??? This Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting extraordinary women in our F&E CWEL community! ??? ?? Meet Precious L. Williams "RainmakingSpeaker": CEO of Perfect Pitch Group and BWEL Alumna ?? Their take on women’s leadership: "My one piece of advice for women pursuing leadership roles is to have #Audacity. Leaders are made and solidified through pursuing innovation, creating new avenues and thinking BIGGER. The best leaders earned their stripes in hard times, not when everything is easy. So have courage and #Audacity to know that the world needs you as you are! You are enough as you are! Bring that BIG vision of yours to the fore. You will be ridiculed. You will be told your ideas aren't right. Trust them anyway. The best women I have seen as leaders have uncompromising vision and the Audacity to see it through. They are not afraid to flexible or adapt but they have a unifying vision. If it scares you, do it! The Audacity to show up and out and trust that the vision placed in you needs YOU to make it happen! Go forth and LEAD! The world is watching and waiting!" ?? Join the conversation! What’s one piece of advice you would give to women pursuing leadership roles today? • ??? This Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting extraordinary women in our F&E CWEL community! ??? ?? Meet Emily Ana Levy'16: Co-Founder & President of Mighty Well and WIN Lab Alumna ?? Their take on women’s leadership: "At 18, my heart was already set on Babson, but receiving the F&E CWEL scholarship changed my life forever. It gave me the support, mentorship, and confidence to co-found my own business while still in undergrad. CWEL became my safe haven—a place where I was uplifted by incredible women who believed in me. Being part of WIN Lab later on surrounded me with a powerhouse network of women and industry leaders who are still some of my closest friends and advisors today. Returning to campus recently to keynote and teach this year’s WIN Lab entrepreneurs reminded me just how unique and special this community is. F&E CWEL creates space for women entrepreneurs to grow, take risks, receive mentorship, and build lifelong friendships. I’m beyond grateful to be part of this legacy. ???" ?? Join the conversation!
