Babson College Miami had the incredible opportunity to host Koichiro Nakamura, Senior Managing Director Sozo Ventures, Phil Wickham, Executive Managing Director, Sozo Ventures, and Reshma Sohoni, Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Seedcamp, for an exclusive discussion on evaluating startups, investment strategies, and key red flags investors watch out for. But this wasn’t just a talk at campus, our MBA students experienced the investment process firsthand! Sozo Ventures and Seedcamp went beyond the event and joined our Face-to-Face weekend classes, where they advised students on their Capstone projects, challenged them with tough investor-style questions, and shared what truly makes a pitch stand out. Throughout the weekend, students also had the opportunity to analyze companies, evaluate key valuation factors, and think like investors. A huge thank you to Professor Mark P. Rice for organizing this initiative, and to Phil Wickham, who, even while recovering in Japan, joined us virtually to share his expertise.
