We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and creative professional to join our Pioneer Valley Adults program. The intent of our Pioneer Valley Adults program is to teach individuals to be as independent as possible by completing tasks with them, not for them. This job often gives Specialists a well deserved feeling of great accomplishment when someone that they are supporting has succeeded in meeting a goal. Qualifications: High School Diploma, knowledge of autism and treatments through education/training & experience, over 1 year working with adults with developmental disabilities in an outreach model and a valid driver's license and reliable transportation/vehicle. Autism Connections provides a wide variety of services and information and resources through our Autism Centers in Northampton, Greenfield, Pittsfield, and Springfield, as well as family and individual supports through referrals by the Department of Developmental Services. Autism Connections provides support, information, and practical help for children and adults with autism (and their families) living in all four counties of western Massachusetts. Autism Connections was founded in 1989 by parents of children with autism. Their goal was to help families, schools, professionals, agencies, and communities understand autism, promote the well-being of individuals with autism and foster their inclusion within the local community. We continue to focus on helping individuals and families build on their strengths, work together to create a positive vision for the future, and help children and adults learn, grow, and be welcomed, and fully-included members of our communities.
