?? Strengthening Digital Capacities to Combat Human Trafficking ??? How can law enforcement agencies (LEAs) counter human trafficking when criminals exploit digital platforms to operate across borders? Enhancing digital investigation skills is crucial to dismantling trafficking networks. As part of these efforts, the Falkor Training was held online on January 20 and 22, 2025, bringing together participants from ASIT partners HP, MoISR, INT, KWP, and MoIBG. Organized by Center for Security Studies (KEMEA) under WP5 on improving digital capacities of LEAs, the training focused on: ? Digital investigation techniques ? Data analysis for crime detection ? Strengthening inter-agency cooperation Participants will now contribute to scenario development and operational exercises planned for spring 2025 - ensuring the practical application of these skills in real-world investigations. The ASIT project remains committed to equipping LEAs with the tools needed to combat human trafficking in an increasingly digital landscape. We’re thrilled to share that, following the success of our joint seminar in November 2024, the ASIT and INTERCEPTED projects have decided to formalise their synergy! This marks a significant step towards enhancing our collective efforts to combat trafficking in human beings (THB) and related forms of exploitation. ?? ASIT focuses on addressing the evolving challenges of THB and child sexual exploitation (CSE) in the EU, particularly in the context of forced migration. Through strengthened law enforcement capacities and innovative digital tools, ASIT aims to improve victim support and awareness while combating trafficking in all its forms. ?? INTERCEPTED project tackles the digitalisation of trafficking networks, with a focus on the changing tactics of traffickers. Operating across Central Europe and the Western Balkans, the project enhances law enforcement and judicial responses, strengthens public-private cooperation and ensures the effective use of digital evidence in investigations and prosecutions. Together, we’re paving the way for impactful initiatives and cross-border collaboration to prevent trafficking, support victims and protect vulnerable communities.
