**ASIS APAC Conference 2024: A Recap**
As we wrapped up the ASIS APAC 2-day security conference in Singapore, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of its most memorable milestones.
It was a fantastic experience to be part of the organizing committee, working alongside Jarrod J. Nair, CPP, Mitesh Shah, Hwee Fong Yong 杨慧芳 BCCS, CIRM, FSM, APP, Tech IOSH, WSHO, Ava Gui, Edison Koh (許實声), CPP, PCI, PSP, PMP, Harley Chia and all the student volunteers on behalf of the ASIS International (Singapore Chapter). This year’s conference was remarkable for several reasons: it was the first of its kind in Singapore, featured unique field visits, hosted the prestigious The Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) and achieved a sold-out status with over 200 attendees.
I had the privilege of moderating a panel discussion on *Future-proofing Security- The Role of AI, IoT, and Emerging Technologies* with an esteemed lineup of panellists: Colin Tan, Matt Lee, CSMP?, Michael Raska, and Noor Huda Ismail. Engaging with these experts on such a relevant topic was truly an honour.
A special moment of pride for Northland Controls to be part of the conference’s success story. Pierre Trapanese presentation on AI readiness and adoption was both insightful and inspiring. Many thanks to everyone who stopped by the Northland's booth to say hello to Peggy Teo, Muhammad Shahrizal Bin Asmuri, and the rest of our team!
Many congratulation to the inaugural ASIS APAC Board. We have exciting times ahead in Asia as we continue to grow and explore new opportunities in this dynamic region. Danny Chan, Paul Devassy, Tyn van Amelsfoort, Sanjay Kaushik CFE, FCIISCM, CATS, CCPS, CFAP, Shane Norton, Ngaire Kelaher CPP, PSP, Md. Nurul Mannan Choudhury CPP, Pascal Engler - GradCertProMgt, CSMP?, Dip Sec Rsk Mgt, Col Kanwal Kishore, SM, CPP?, CBCP?, CSP?, Victor Lim Kok Hooi (CPP, CBCP, CRMP), Paul Rachmadi CPP, Daniel Holtsjo.
Finally, it was a huge opportunity to connect with friends and colleagues, both local and from abroad. A big shout-out to all our overseas friends who made the effort to join us at the conference.
I’m already looking forward to the #APACConference #2025, which will take place in Singapore from November 11–13. See you there!
