**ASIS APAC Conference 2024: A Recap** As we wrapped up the ASIS APAC 2-day security conference in Singapore, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of its most memorable milestones. It was a fantastic experience to be part of the organizing committee, working alongside Jarrod J. Nair, CPP, Mitesh Shah, Hwee Fong Yong 杨慧芳 BCCS, CIRM, FSM, APP, Tech IOSH, WSHO, Ava Gui, Edison Koh (許實声), CPP, PCI, PSP, PMP, Harley Chia and all the student volunteers on behalf of the ASIS International (Singapore Chapter). This year’s conference was remarkable for several reasons: it was the first of its kind in Singapore, featured unique field visits, hosted the prestigious The Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) and achieved a sold-out status with over 200 attendees. I had the privilege of moderating a panel discussion on *Future-proofing Security- The Role of AI, IoT, and Emerging Technologies* with an esteemed lineup of panellists: Colin Tan, Matt Lee, CSMP?, Michael Raska, and Noor Huda Ismail. Engaging with these experts on such a relevant topic was truly an honour. A special moment of pride for Northland Controls to be part of the conference’s success story. Pierre Trapanese presentation on AI readiness and adoption was both insightful and inspiring. Our speakers explored how shifting geopolitical dynamics are affecting security strategies worldwide and the pressing need for adaptive measures in today’s volatile landscape. Managing insider threats is a complex and ongoing challenge, and our speakers provided practical strategies to address it. Building real resilience means cultivating an environment where team members are aware of potential risks, communicate openly, and trust one another to maintain security. Just wrapped up a fantastic panel discussion on ‘Insider Threats: Finding the Unknown’ at the ASIS International APAC conference. Martin Gill, Varsha Avadhany and I discussed the importance of cross-functional expertise and collaboration for effective insider threat prevention. The audience was very engaged, and asked insightful questions that sparked great dialogue. Clearly this is a topic that’s top of mind for many security professionals. The key takeaway: a holistic approach that blends technology, behavioral science, and proactive threat management is essential in today’s world. Thank you Mitesh Shah, Jarrod J.
