Attendees also heard from International Arbitration counsel álvaro Nistal Nistal, who spoke on the panel, “The Impact of Investment Treaties on Human Rights and Climate Change.” The conference focused on topical and important matters concerning the interactions between international arbitration, climate change, human rights, infrastructure projects, fraud, and artificial intelligence in Latin America. He has represented over a dozen sovereign States, and many leading multinational corporations, in challenging and complex disputes across numerous geographies, sectors and subject matters.
