What is Tech Advisory? I’ve heard many debates on this topic, so here’s my take... ?? If you're an Accountant, you likely use financial apps internally and recommend (or even mandate) certain tools for your clients. Sometimes, you’re involved in implementation—sometimes, not. You might even venture into more complex operational systems like ERP, Inventory, or Job Management. ?? If you're a Bookkeeper, you probably have a solid understanding of tools and guide clients toward software providers, offering a high-level overview based on your experience. Maybe you even assist with demos, implementation, or support in some cases. ?? If you're a Software Consultant, you likely conduct full discovery, implementation, and support for various technologies—sometimes from a fixed catalog, other times through custom research for each project. ?? From my perspective, you're all tech advisors. Whether it’s a casual chat about useful apps or full-scale implementation, your discussions qualify as advisory because they’re grounded in your experience with market tools. ??
