Being part of launching the Latinos @ Amazon South Florida chapter in 2023 has been one of my most rewarding experiences. Together with my dedicated committee of three Amazonians, we've created and delivered over 30 career development initiatives that have reached more than 300 members. Over 3 years ago, I was tapped on the shoulder by an old Recruiting Manager to join and support the recruiting efforts to build out Alexa AI. Fast forward to 2025, I now support Amazon AGI, the team creating state-of-the-art foundation models that deliver frontier intelligence and industry leading price-performance on Amazon Bedrock. ?? What types of roles is AGI hiring for? There’s a lot of unique opportunities here at Amazon. I am fortunate to work with some awesome principal and senior principal engineers, like Mona, Vinay and Tao, to make the magic happen. Yes, sometimes we wear boxes on our heads like hats – you can’t take yourself too seriously after all and it is important to have fun! When not creating unique headwear ??, our focus is on developing cutting-edge technology that's reshaping the delivery journey. We're leveraging the latest in machine learning and data science to drive innovation, for example: ??? Advanced route optimization algorithms that consider real-time traffic and weather conditions. ?? AI models that anticipate customer delivery needs and present a cohesive experience. ?? Foundation models that understand the way packages and vehicles move in the real world. ?? Application of VLM and LLM on massive datasets to better understand the world around us and optimize delivery success. ?? Computer vision that’s applied across our operations, from inspecting the safety of loaded vans to returned item evaluation.
