The 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan, came to a close last Friday. As the world’s largest multilateral decision-making forum on climate change, COP29 unites nearly every nation to address the climate crisis. This year’s key priorities included: ? Setting a new climate finance goal. ? Cutting greenhouse gas emissions. ? Strengthening community resilience. On Saturday, Tara McCarthy, Alltech’s global vice president for ESG, participated in a COP29 Azerbaijan panel of agri-food leaders who discussed how agriculture can balance nutrition security with sustainable practices. Hosted by GP Cotton Holdings and chaired by Gulnara Hasanova, the panel also featured: ? Donald Moore, Global Dairy Platform Inc. ? Josefina Eisele, Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (GRSB) ? Last week, at the THRIVE Global Impact Summit in California, industry leaders came together to discuss how disruptive innovation can build a future that is sustainable, inclusive, healthy and equitable. We're thrilled to share that Dr. Aman Sayed, Alltech’s managing director for India and regional director for South Asia, was awarded the prestigious IPSA Fellow 2024 award at the annual conference of the Indian Poultry Science Association (IPSA) in Nagpur in October. The award, given in recognition of Dr. Sayed’s significant contributions to the veterinary profession, was presented at a grand ceremony attended by industry leaders as well as academic faculty and students. The high attendance and enthusiasm shown at this gathering reinforced the importance of the poultry segment in India, where accelerated population growth is creating an unprecedented need for high-quality protein, but where eating beef is not usually an option, for both religious and cultural reasons. Congratulations, Dr. Sayed — we are grateful for your dedication and pioneering work, which continue to strengthen the industry and inspire future veterinarians.

???? In celebration of World Egg Day, Alltech Malaysia partnered with Selasih Aman Sdn Bhd to host a special event at SJKC Kalumbang. Over 120 students from both Chinese and Malay schools joined the festivities, which featured a storytelling session called “The Journey of an Egg from Farm to Table.” This interactive session helped students understand the farm-to-table process of eggs, while also learning about their nutritional value. The event was a great success, inspiring young minds to appreciate the important role eggs play in their daily diet!
