? A tiring and energizing week in Brussels. Yes, it sounds like a contradiction; it is not. ? ???? I was in Brussels for 3 days, and gosh, how much can happen in those days? Especially for someone who works from the basement of her house most of the time. ? ?? Took the first flight to BXL and from the airport directly to the brokerage event for the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) call 9. My aim was to explore possibilities for collaboration, presenting the expertise of SHINE 2Europe in multi-stakeholder engagement and creating educational materials towards inclusive digital health solutions. The outcomes of the meeting went beyond expected: ?? A handful of follow-up meetings which hopefully will spark new and exciting collaborations. ?? Unexpected encounters with old university colleagues I haven’t seen in more than a decade. It was a pleasure seeing you Vanessa Cunha and Raquel Cunha. ?? Unexpected heartwarming encounters which light up the day and that hopefully will be repeated often with Ana Rita Pinto. ? ???? The day after, I attended the Conference “Creating Knowledge through Participatory Research” hosted by the OpenLab.brussels where I presented SHINE’s approach to multistakeholder engagement in Horizon Europe projects, presenting the methodologies used in the projects AI4HF (EU project), RadioVal, Liveration, and GUARDIANS project. It was absolutely inspiring to hear about successful cases of participatory research engaging people in vulnerable situations, fully aligned with SHINE’s mission. And still had the chance to catch up with my dear team member Inês Saavedra. Being a remote team, we savour each moment when we can meet in person. ? ???? And there is no dull moment in Brussels. Between meetings, I had the chance to finally meet with Peter Feys in person. Good food, good company, good conversation, what can go wrong? Finally, there was time (never enough though) to spend with my dear friend Ksenija Simovic squeezed between networking events and even a beautiful concert from the Brussels Cello Festival (well done Belgium Cello Society ??). Thank you for being my home every time I visit Brussels. And I mean ‘home’, much more than providing me with a bed to sleep in. ? ?? Tiring days yes, but I returned home with a new energy. Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence for Personalised Risk Assessment in Chronic Heart Failure
关于我们
The ambitious objective of the AI4HF project is to co-design, develop, evaluate and exploit an integrative and trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI) solution for personalised HF risk assessment, trained from large, complementary multi-source cardiovascular data, including (1) cardiac imaging, (2) cardiac biomarkers, (2) electrocardiography (ECG) and (4) information from clinical reports. The AI4HF technology will enable to dissect the precise characteristics of each HF patient, then predict the patient’s likely outcomes at an early stage to enable timely and personalised care. The project will put great emphasis on the concepts of trustworthy and inter-disciplinary AI, to ensure that the developed AI technology is trusted, approved and deployed in the real world for the benefit of patients, cardiologists, physicians, care providers and society at large. ????? AI4HF project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No 101080430

Very interesting day at the #ESCardioCRT Trustworthy implementation of #AI in cardiology clinical practice, in #Zurich! Had the pleasure to present the results of the multistakeholder discussions and co-creation around the AI4HF (EU project), where SHINE 2Europe leads the #SocialInnovation works. Overall objective of this roundtable: to establish a comprehensive and actionable roadmap for the trustworthy integration of AI into clinical practice within cardiology, ensuring that AI tools are reliable, evidence-based, and contribute to improved patient outcomes. Positive note: all of this being done between healthcare professionals, researcher, medical industry, regulators, notified bodies, professional societies, policy makers, payers and patient representatives. Well done European Society of Cardiology for assembling such an interesting group and creating actionable discussion on this really important topic!!
