What are the startup metrics that matter and are you committing cardinal sins as a founder? Four-time founder and seasoned accelerator mentor Tash Jefferies delivers the goods in our #FoundersHub founder stage studio at inbound. Here were some key take aways. Sins of founders - billboards - Press releases: these should be 2nd or third - Choose the right conference - Make sure you qualify - Make sure your social media ads speak specifically to your icp Metrics that matter (see slide) Focus on essential Traits of essential metrics: - easy to find - Easy to measure (know absolute not just percentage) - Easy to standardize - Easy to test North Star Metric - The one metric that everyone can look to, and now you’re going in the right direction. OMTM - one metric that matters (eg demos booked) Her slides were on ??(a few are below). Huge thanks to her and a16z Talent x Opportunity #inbound24 #startupoasis

Huge thanks to HubSpot For Startups for hosting an incredible conversation at INBOUND! ????? Ivan Tchatchouwo (CEO, The Zone), Tash Jefferies (Astra Studios), and Rich Green (AWS) dropped some serious gems on navigating accelerator programs. From embracing a growth mindset to shaking off old habits, the insights were fire! ?? Missed it? Don’t worry—we’ve got clips coming soon. Stay tuned! ?? Thanks to our own Caitlin Glazebrook for repping the TxO team! ????
What is it like going thru an accelerator program? Ivan Tchatchouwo (CEO of The Zone) Tash Jefferies (Astra Studios) and Rich Green (Sr. Biz Dev Amazon Web Services (AWS) chat with a16z Talent x Opportunity Platform Partner Caitlin Glazebrook to dish the 411. Some take aways: - have a growth mindset. Be willing to try something new. - beyond the funding, you should be thinking about the make up of your management and labor teams. Where do you have gaps and where do you have expertise. - Know the competitive landscape. Who are you most like, where do you have competitive advantage, how do you differentiate yourself. - be willing to unlearn a lot of the bad habits you have learned. Mentors in accelerate programs are going to push you to get uncomfortable. Get ready for a shake up. - set up a time window dedicated to meeting with mentors, corporate partners, other founders, etc. - don’t be shy about reaching out to people like Tash who run accelerator programs. - one of the biggest aha moments you may have is realizing that you didn’t know which you didn’t know. So many more great insights. If you were not able to see them live at INBOUND, we’re filming it and will have clips available to share in the coming weeks. So make sure you and your friends and colleagues are following our page to be mindful of when they go live. #StartupOasis #FoundersHub #inbound24
