Zubin’s Travelogue Part 1
Back in the day, when I started my career, there was a fad where employees were proud to accumulate leave, grinding it out at the office day in and day out, without a break. I worked in an environment of over-buttering individuals who took extreme pride in proclaiming to their bosses, "I haven't taken leave in 4 years!". So naturally my co-workers were surprised that I took all my leave. This didn't faze me at all. I was entitled to a certain amount of holidays and I took them, with no apologies.
My motto was work hard, holiday harder so I treated my Personal Time Off (PTO) as sacred and I’d religiously consume it in its entirety. I refused to hoard it like valuables in a bank locker.
My wealth comes from my travel experiences. So I add more wealth every time I travel and those experiences accumulate like little gems in my [mind] locker. To be taken out and treasured from time to time.
I enjoy meeting people from different parts of the world, learning about their culture, cuisine, and lifestyle. Even working dynamics are different in different parts of the world. Knowing people and understanding how to work with them comes from a great amount of travel.
My advice to every youngster, who’s ambitious, raring to go and wants to make a mark in life.
Work plays a role in your life, that’s a given; but it should not become your entire life. Don’t just live to work, you should work for a living.
Do you have an interesting travel story? I’d love to hear it.
I’ll be sharing some of my stories in upcoming posts. Stay Tuned…….
