Zscaler Awarded FedRAMP Authorization For Secure Internet and Web Gateway Solution

I’m very excited to share a big milestone for Zscaler. Today, we announced that Zscaler Internet Access?-Government (ZIA?-Government) is the first secure internet and web gateway solution to earn FedRAMP certification and to meet the guidance of the recently released Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) 3.0 Initiative, enabling Federal agencies to use modern and emerging technologies, like Zscaler – Government. This announcement is on the heels of FedRAMP granting Authorization to Operate (ATO) for Zscaler Private Access?-Government (ZPA?-Government), which delivers secure, direct access to internal applications in the cloud.

As the Federal Government drives toward IT modernization and deploys cloud services, the FedRAMP program provides a “standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud solutions.” Furthermore, Federal teams need quick secure access to data and applications from any device, anywhere. But, as Federal teams become more mobile and cloud-based applications over the internet require a Trusted Internet Connection (TIC); this creates a problem for the Government--which was not built for this high-volume, high-demand traffic. 

With ZIA-Government and ZPA-Government solutions, we are enabling Federal agencies to move more securely to the cloud while providing their users with a secure, fast, reliable access to any application from any device or location. This supports the administration’s Cloud Smart initiative; which “streamlines transformation and embraces modern capabilities,” as well as the newly released TIC 3.0 draft policy.

Getting FedRAMP approval is a very complex and arduous process, requiring cloud providers to meet strict security guidelines to gain certification. And for Zscaler to be awarded these two authorizations, it makes me extremely proud of our team and their leadership to drive innovation—a core tenant of Zscaler’s values.
