.....zoom out to see the IBM magic

.....zoom out to see the IBM magic

...this post is 'cause I got annoyed by an article an analyst published last week about IBM. Its been nearly 22 years now with IBM and this company remains what it was and has become more. I joined a "compute giant" that had just launched its "x86" line, the xSeries, and boy did we take over the world. Looking back now, we have transformed into an organisation, who, Enterprises trust their data, to do everything one can with it.

Every client needs their data to be sorted, analysed and models created for decision making and innovation. IBM is today the leader in the area of AI and Analytics.

Data required by Enterprises are just not their own (inside their premises). Its is also that is served on the edge (IOT) or made available by other enterprises. It is open standards that ensure that data from all sources are seamlessly available to everybody. IBM acquisition of Redhat underlines the commitment to open standards among other capabilities.

If data is being shared seamlessly then the biggest concern is about ensuring only authorised people access this data. Thats where IBM's leadership in the Security space comes in. Our products long with our consultants are the go to team to secure your Enterprise.

One needs to step back to see how this Century old company, has not only retained its values, but metamorphed into a Data Analytics leader, A Security leader , an Open standard evangelist, while continuing to be the most powerful compute player in the world. The icing on the cake is the pace that IBM has set in the areas of Hybrid cloud, quantum computing and block chain.

With all the above capabilities, IBM has positioned itself as the trusted go to company which can help any organisation digitally transform to become more agile, embrace innovation and grow to its potential.

To the analyst, all I can say is , sometime one needs to Zoom out to appreciate the beauty of a painting. To everyone else, I would like to say that the painting is still not completed. I am also waiting to see its full glorious form and it should be there soon.

PS : This is my personal view, having spent a long time in IBM. IBMers who read this post please comment and share. Pls in-mail me if you need any deeper information on any of the topic mentioned above.

Jyoti for the Critics like Harvey Mackay said" Find something you love and to do, you'll never work a day in your life". One can understand IBM only if he knew it's People, Process & Technologies capabilities.....
