Continuing on my theme of how to successfully innovate, I was pointed to the transcript of a recent talk by a Dutchman named Bert Hubert, whom I do not (yet) know, but who is a new hero of mine. I will be writing my next article on the topic of how to lead an innovative company, but Bert's talk describes all the symptoms of a company that is becoming what he graphically calls a 'Zombie Company' where the lifeblood of innovation has drained away. Essential reading for all who care about innovation!

3 年Indeed a great and thought provoking presentation, but I do find his implied definition of "innovation" a little too narrow. One can innovate in ways that do not involve hardcore tech manufacturing, through clever and novel combinations of components/services produced by others for example. Few companies innovate "from scratch", there is always a baseline. "We stand on the shoulders of giants"
