1.3 billion from 1 country struggled for just 1 medal @ Rio.
When Abhinav Bindra and Dipa Karmakar achieved #4 @ Rio, the nation cheered. They both won a billion hearts. It was consolation prize for a passionate effort amidst all odds.
India still wanted that elusive medal @ Rio.
A country that loved and preached - “Beta kabil bano, kabil ... kamyaabi toh saali jhak maarke peeche bhagegi” suddenly realized that they are NEITHER ‘KABIL’ nor ‘KAMYAAB’.
Have we lost way? Have we fooled ourselves into our cocoons of glory in nukkads and gallis? Thanks to the Olympics, every 4 years, India knows where she stands – GLOBALLY!
A nation plunged into hopelessness suddenly struck double whammy.
A billion erupted!
However, THE GOLD IS STILL ILLUSIVE.
When we get glued to our TV sets in the hope of GOLD for P V Sindhu, deep inside us we aspire to be successful against all odds. Lets agree, if we were satisfied with the SILVER, we won’t have watched that match last night!
We all want to win and be the BEST IN THE WORLD.
Let not that SPIRIT of being the WORLD’s BEST re-ignite ONLY every 4 years at the OLYMPICS.
Make that SPIRIT a HABIT – DAILY! Lets pursue EXCELLENCE - DAILY!
Act today and everyday to ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE and be the WORLD’S BEST!
