ZINC SCORES A CHARITY WIN

Zinc recently fielded a team of enthusiastic players in the form of a five-a-side team in support of a Scottish men’s mental health charity “Brothers in Arms”, helping to raise an impressive £865.00 to this great cause.

Brothers in Arms was an idea that became a reality when they launched in 2017 as an awareness-raising website to represent men in Scotland and to start the conversation about male suicide, the single biggest killer of men in the UK under the age of 45. They are a volunteer-based charity so all funds raised go directly to the projects they launch, including the knockout tournament played by Zinc’s five-a-side team.

Their strategy is to reach out to men in Scotland, no matter where they are (especially remote and rural areas) and to provide the free tools and means that empower people to support their own mental-fitness through self-management in private, and with confidence, via their own Digital Safe Space.

Despite their best efforts the Zinc teamdid not get to lift any trophies, but the team had a great night and we are all very proud of the fact that they dedicated their free time on a cold January night to such a worthy cause. This event marks the first of many which Zinc will be hosting, or getting involved in, as part of our commitment to local good causes and charity as well as community-based projects.
