We were proud to showcase our cutting-edge metals portfolio, including Hindustan Zinc Die Casting Alloy (HZDA 3 & 5) and EcoZen—Asia’s first low-carbon 'green' zinc—at the Bharat Mobility Conclave. These innovative metals are at the forefront of driving sustainability and technological advancements in the manufacturing and automotive sectors. As the world of zinc continues to shape the future of mobility, the event provided a valuable platform to engage with industry leaders and collaborate on the next generation of solutions that are redefining the mobility revolution.
BUSINESS
As we marked our 59th Foundation Day, we reflected on our journey since 1966, which was significantly accelerated by Vedanta’s acquisition in 2002. We have since become the world’s most sustainable metals and mining company and the second-largest integrated zinc producer, with production growing over 50x. We have also contributed ?1,70,000 crores to the exchequer since 2002 and invested approximately ?1,700 crores in social impact initiatives, benefiting nearly 20 lakh people across 4,000 villages.

HZL Chairperson Priya Agarwal Hebbar highlighted: $1.7 trillion investment is required globally in the mining sector to power the energy transition. With less than 15% of its natural resources tapped, India stands at the cusp of exponential growth. Vedanta 2.0's bold vision to double production of zinc and silver, fueling India's industrial and economic growth. Hindustan Zinc is driving long-term growth through renewable energy, a fully battery-powered logistics chain by 2030, and achieving Net Zero by 2050 or sooner. Hindustan Zinc’s partnership with IITs to develop zinc batteries as a greener, cost-effective alternative to lithium. Recognized the growing role of women in India's workforce, prioritizing health and prosperity for a brighter future.
Deshnee Naidoo, CEO Vedanta Resources visits Hindustan Zinc
We hosted a special Townhall with Ms. Deshnee Naidoo, CEO - Vedanta Resources, where she shared her vision for Vedanta and Hindustan Zinc’s future growth journey. In her address, she outlined Vedanta’s strategic outlook, emphasising the company’s expansion into critical metals, strengthening its global presence, and prioritising safety at the core of all operations. She expressed her commitment to driving business expansion and bringing widespread recognition for Vedanta on the global stage through innovation and operational excellence. Ms. Naidoo highlighted that returning to Vedanta with diverse experiences reinforces her belief that this company offers tremendous opportunities for holistic growth. She also spoke about Vedanta’s agility and its strong focus on developing young leaders. Encouraging everyone to reflect on their journey, she emphasised the importance of making purpose-driven decisions that align with long-term, sustainable growth.
Driving Efficiency & Performance: Asset Optimisation Workshop with Business Partners
We recently conducted an Asset Optimization Workshop with our business partners, focusing on maximizing asset performance, enhancing efficiency, and driving cost reductions in line with our CEO Mr. Arun Misra’s vision of 20% More @ 20% Less. Building on the success of our first round of Business Plan workshops, this session enabled collaboration with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving operations and resource utilization, reinforcing our path towards becoming the world’s most admired producer of zinc, lead, and silver.
Expanding international footprint with exclusive seminar in Indonesia
Hindustan Zinc, in collaboration with the Association of Galvanizers Indonesia (AGI), hosted an exclusive seminar in Jakarta to showcase its premium product portfolio, including Special High-Grade Zinc and EcoZen, Asia's first low-carbon 'green' zinc. Hindustan Zinc’s extensive product offerings was presented by Mr. Vijay Murthy, HZL’s Chief Marketing Officer. The event brought together 20 prominent galvanizers from Indonesia and highlighted innovative solutions aimed at meeting the growing demand for sustainability in the Southeast Asian market. EcoZen, our newly launched product, garnered significant interest among attendees, particularly for export requirements, reinforcing its global appeal and alignment with sustainable market trends. Mr. Harris Hendraka, President of AGI, lauded Hindustan Zinc’s standing as a global leader in zinc and lead manufacturing. He shared AGI's positive experiences with Hindustan Zinc, praising the consistent quality of its materials and expressing a strong interest in future collaborations. The seminar also featured a dynamic technical presentation by our team, providing in-depth insights into the zinc manufacturing process and its wide-ranging applications across global industries.

We are proud to share that we have been recognized as a Green Leader Supplier by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) under its Responsible Supply Chain Assessment Protocol for High-Grade Zinc. This distinction reflects our strong Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance and alignment with L&T’s supply chain criteria, covering environmental impact, human rights, health and safety, CSR, and governance.With a customer-first approach, we innovate to meet evolving needs, supported by our Customer Technical Services team and Centre of Excellence.
Strengthening Ties: Visiting the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) - Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (CIMFR) in Dhanbad, Jharkhand
Our CEO, Mr. Arun Misra, along with Mr. Ram Murari, IBU CEO, and Mr. Ayan Giri, Geo-technical Head of the Zawar Group of Mines, visited the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) - Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (CIMFR) in Dhanbad to review ongoing and upcoming collaborative projects between Hindustan Zinc and CIMFR. During the visit, they toured key facilities, including the 1000 Tonne Horizontal Tensile Testing Machine.
Upskilling Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) conducted for our Digital Team
Our digital team, in collaboration with KPMG, recently hosted a three-day workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). The workshop offered hands-on training in key AI/ML concepts and tools, enabling the team with expertise to drive innovation and growth. This initiative is a key step in making our Digital Team future-ready, keeping us at the forefront of technological advancements.

On National Startup Day, January 16th, we celebrated the innovation and collaboration driving digital transformation across our value chain through Vedanta Spark. In an engaging webinar led by CEO Mr. Arun Misra and senior leadership, we honored eight startups for their exceptional contributions to operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability. With over 40 startups involved in more than 60 projects, we are leveraging technologies like AI, Internet of Things, and Robotics to set new benchmarks for a smarter, safer, and more sustainable future.

Hindustan Zinc showcases Sakhi Initiative at Zinc City’s Flower Show
We proudly showcased products from our women empowerment community initiative, Sakhi at the Flower Show held at Fatehsagar Lake in Udaipur - Zinc City. The display included products under Daichi along with handcrafted fabric items under the Upaya brand. This program promotes women empowerment and mobilises tribal and rural women groups to make them financially independent.
Hindustan Zinc wins 2nd Prize in Jhanki Pradarshan at Chittorgarh
Furthermore, Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter (CLZS) participated in a Jhanki (tableau) display at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Chittorgarh, during the district’s Republic Day celebrations. The tableau highlighted key community initiatives such as Sakhi, Sakhi ME, Samadhan, Shiksha Sambal, Zinc Kaushal, and the drinking water initiative, among others, and earned second prize for its impactful and well-executed presentation.
National Youth Day Celebration with Zinc Kaushal Kendra students
We celebrated National Youth Day with the students of our social impact program, Zinc Kaushal Kendra, across all our business units. This program is a skill development initiative designed to empower rural youth in Rajasthan with valuable employment opportunities through short-term courses. We also inaugurated a Sales & Marketing Lab at our Rajpura Dariba location to further support skill development.
Zinc Football Academy stars sign long-term contracts with Indian Super League (ISL) Clubs
We are proud to share that two of our talents from our Zinc Football Academy, Mohammed Kaif and Prem Hansdak, have signed long-term contracts with top Indian Super League (ISL) clubs, Hyderabad FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant, respectively. The Indian Super League (ISL), recognised by FIFA and AFC, is India’s premier professional football league, representing the country's top-tier domestic competition.
Zinc football community school girls finish runner up in Asmita Khelo India under-25 league in Udaipur
Zinc Football Academy, represented by our community school girls, finished runner up, just behind Champions Magan Singh Rajvi Football Academy in the Asmita Khelo India Under-15 Football League, held in Rockwoods International School Udaipur. ZFA striker Kanishka Meena won the Emerging Player of the Tournament award while Savita grabbed the Best Defender of the Tournament award.

Celebrating Sports Excellence at CII-Vedanta Hindustan Zinc Ltd. Invitation Golf Cup
The CII-Vedanta Hindustan Zinc Ltd. Invitation Golf Tournament, a one-day sporting extravaganza, saw the participation of over 100 golfers, including accomplished women players. Mr. Munish Vasudeva, CHRO of Hindustan Zinc Ltd., participated in the tournament and addressed attendees on the valuable managerial skills that can be learnt through golf. Renowned professional woman golfer Shweta Man Singh, along with other distinguished dignitaries, graced the event, adding to its grandeur and success.
Hindustan Zinc concludes the 45th Mohan Kumar Mangalam Football Tournament
Hindustan Zinc, in collaboration with the Zawar Mines Mazdoor Sangh, successfully concluded the 45th edition of the prestigious Mohan Kumar Mangalam (MKM) Football Tournament at the MKM Stadium in Zawar, Rajasthan. The thrilling final saw Kashmir United FC emerge victorious, defeating Hindustan Zinc XI 2-1 in a fiercely contested match. This iconic tournament brought together 12 talented teams from across India, each representing their state in an exciting showcase of football and sportsmanship.
Chanderiya concludes Inter-Zinc Cricket Championship | Dariba claims the victory
The grand finale of the Inter-Zinc Cricket Championship Season 3, hosted by Chanderiya Lead-Zinc Smelter, provided a thrilling showdown between the teams of Chanderiya and Dariba. Both played with passion and intensity, making for a nail-biting contest that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. In the end, Dariba triumphed, securing their third championship title with an impressive display of skill and determination. This victory added to their legacy, capping off a thrilling season of cricket.

Pantnagar Metal Plant triumphs at 4th Kaizen Competition
Pantnagar Metal Plant participated in the 4th Kaizen Competition organized by Quality Circle Forum of India on January 28, 2025, with 8 teams competing 4 from Silver and 4 from Zinc. Out of these, 5 teams were awarded Gold, while 3 secured Silver. The competition featured various categories including Safety, Equipment Reliability, New Product Development, and Asset Optimization, with a total of 76 teams from 25 industries participating. PMP was honoured with the prestigious Best Kaizen title for the development of the Anode Casting Trolley, a solution designed to eliminate manual handling. This achievement highlights our unwavering commitment to continuous quality improvement, showcased through our consistent participation and success in such competitions.
Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter Recognized for Exceptional Safety Efforts on Republic Day
On Republic Day, Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter (CLZS) was proudly awarded an Appreciation Award by the Chittorgarh District Administration in recognition of its impactful community initiatives, which have positively impacted over 5 lakh people across its operational villages. Furthermore, the Safety Team was commended for their swift and efficient rescue operations during emergencies, offering crucial support to the people of Chittorgarh.
