Zero Interview Calls? Here's Why!
Have you undergone the long and tedious process of job applications only to get your application rejected at the end?
Well in the fast-changing world today where everything is online, the job applications are also at the ease of your finger tip. Receiving daily more than 200 applicants for the profile is not easy for the recruiter to go through all the resumes manually.
The process of resume selection is entirely based on the tool ATS.
We have all heard about the word ATS but do we really know what is it?
Let me break it down for you.
ATS stands for applicant tracking system. For every job that is posted out there, there isn’t a human who will go through all the resumes applied for the job. Instead, the ATS has a mechanism to match your resume with the job description and give a fitment score to the recruiter.
For resumes who do not match the relevant profile get rejected on the spot even before the recruiter has a chance to read it. For resumes who match the ATS Scoring move to the recruiter’s queue and have a chance for an interview.
Well, I know how frustrating it can be having the skills and expertise but not even bagging an interview.
So, what do we do? Here are a few tips that I have learnt during my job search.
·???????Use an ATS Friendly resume, make sure your resume is simple without any major designs
·???????Please do not add your picture in your resume. Resumes with pictures have a high chance of being rejected. (Debatable)
·???????Use relevant keywords from the job description in your resume
·???????Do not forget to name your resume in a professional manner.
·???????Last but not the least you can use Job First Advisors ATS screening tool to get a fitment score.
