Zensoft Wins an Award for Exceptional Performance with The Bombay Stock Exchange

I am proud to announce that Zensoft Services has won the IT transformation project of the year. We won this award for our project with the iconic Bombay Stock Exchange.

As you all know, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), is a pillar of the Indian economic landscape and is one of the largest in the world with over 5,500 listed companies. It is also one of the fastest with an estimated 400 million orders per day trading at an average speed of six microseconds on the BSE Online Trading Platform (BOLT Plus), as well as BOLT on Web (BOW).

During our initial interactions with Kersi Tawadia, Chief Information Officer and Tejal Desai, the Head of Quality Assurance and Release Management at BSE, we understood that their QA requirement was complex. It involved the handling of legacy systems running proprietary software, desktop-based systems, as well as Web applications. SEBI, the regulator of the securities market in India, also heavily influenced the frequent software release cycles with its regulations. At the time, BSE was relying heavily on manual testing, and hence they lacked in process, coverage, and speed. 

BSE decided to engage with Zensoft as a test automation partner and Qualitia as a script-less test automation platform for a massive initiative of bringing in the culture of automation. They wanted to raise the quality bar of every release and increase the number of releases by three times. 

BSE was amazed by Zensoft’s professional expertise and Qualitia’s spectacular performance. Within a short span of time BSE managed to reduce their manual efforts by 51%, and the projected testing team size by 41%.

Zensoft and BSE’s one-year partnership eventually turned into a long-term relationship and today after six years, the number of applications under test has reached 55, and BSE expects this to increase to 75 applications in 2019.
