This year, ZeLIG is proud to participate in DOK Leipzig, one of the most prestigious documentary festivals. Our delegation includes a rich mix of graduates from the ZeLIG documentary program and participants from ESoDoc, the European Social Documentary project funded by the Creative Europe Media program. This blend of talent, representing the next generation of documentary filmmakers, exemplifies ZeLIG’s commitment to nurturing innovative and socially engaged storytelling. Meet the Delegation:
Bettina Hutschek: A visual artist, filmmaker, and curator based in Malta and Berlin, Bettina holds degrees in Art History, Philosophy, and Fine Arts from institutions in Berlin and Leipzig. She was also a visiting scholar at NYU Tisch in New York City. Her work has been screened, exhibited, and performed internationally.
Mark Michel : Director and author, Mark has worked extensively for German television. With a background in Sociology and European Social Policy Analysis, he has directed two acclaimed documentaries and participated in prestigious training programs such as Documentary Campus Masterschool and ESoDoc.
Akio YUGUCHI : A former U.N. digital media officer turned filmmaker, Akio is based in Berlin. His work focuses on highlighting personal stories within larger social, environmental, and political contexts.
beniamino casagrande : A Bolzano native, Beniamino trained in camera and lighting at ZeLIG and has worked as a Key Grip since 2016. He was the cinematographer for Stefano Lisci’s documentaries "Bar Mario" and "Luca+Silvana."
Felix Rier : Born in the Italian Alps, Felix trained as a media designer in Berlin before studying at ZeLIG. Now working as a freelance DOP and sound technician, he is currently developing his debut film.
Otto Lazi?-Reuschel: A Trieste-born filmmaker, Otto moved to Berlin in 2011. His short films have been presented at international festivals, and in 2024, he co-founded Zero Stress Production.
Yango González: A Colombian filmmaker living in Berlin, Yango’s work explores the human condition through essay and documentary films. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Editing at the Film University Konrad Wolf Babelsberg.
Angela Disanto: A documentary film editor based in Bolzano, Angela studied at ZeLIG and is currently editing the documentary Undine (wt) directed by Felix Rier.
Nina Hoegg : A ZeLIG graduate, Nina has worked as a cinematographer for documentaries and short fiction. She currently works as a media designer for Bayerischer Rundfunk, specializing in camera and editing.
