UK hits 60,000 electric car charging points as rate of installation continues to rise
We've published new statistics on charge point installations across the country, and can reveal that?the UK has hit its 60,000th public charge point.
The milestone reflects the extremely encouraging growth of the country’s charge point infrastructure. But really?it is just the crest of the wave.
Our latest figures show that the overall rate of installation in the first four months of 2024 has increased by almost 37% compared with the average across 2023.
And April’s milestone has been driven by particularly strong growth in two key areas of the country’s charge point infrastructure. ?
EV drivers in Scotland benefit from FOR:EV joining our cross-network payment solution
FOR:EV is the latest charge point operator to go live on our cross-network payment solution Zap-Pay, which provides a simple way to pay for charging across different operators in the UK.
With a network of high-powered chargers, FOR:EV is now fully up and running as one of our payment partners. The new partnership makes paying for charging much easier for electric car drivers?across Scotland. ?
