End of year figures show record rate of charge point installation
More than 20,000 new charge points were installed throughout 2024, bringing the total number across the country to 73,699 — a year-on-year increase of 38%. The figures show another year of record growth in the number of charge points installed across the UK over the past 12 months, with the highest growth being seen in ultra-rapid (150kW+) devices and charging hubs.? Zapmap’s new charging statistics come alongside news from the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders confirming?record sales?of new pure-electric cars in 2024.?

Zapmap's 2024 EV Charging Survey released
The full results of the latest Zapmap EV Charging Survey?are now available in our 2024 Annual Charging Insights Report. Now in its fifth year, the report includes responses from?3,746 participants?who drive a fully electric vehicle, and?presents the results from this year's survey together with findings from previous annual surveys since 2021 (where available).?The report is conducted by Zapmap to better understand the charging needs of EV drivers,?with the findings being used to improve Zapmap's consumer and business offerings and EV charging facilities in the UK.The issues explored in the survey include: EV ownership, models and motivations for purchase; EV charging at home; and EV charging on the public network. Detailed sample data is also provided, as are data exports from the Zapmap database.The full annual survey is available to purchase at an early bird price of £2,995 + VAT for purchases before end of January 2024.

Zapmap team considers what lies ahead for?EV market in 2025

UK Government consultation on?ZEV mandate delivery
On 24th December,?the UK government announced an eight week consultation on the delivery of the 2030 ban on sales of purely petrol and diesel cars and the ZEV mandate.?

Moto reaches 2m?EV?charging events in 2024
EV motorists charged their vehicles two million times at Moto’s sites across the UK?during 2024. The UK’s largest motorway services operator became the first to install?1,000 charging bays at its locations throughout the country.?
Zapmap also revealed the UK’s most popular service stations for charging, with Moto achieving an impressive seven sites in the top ten.
