Zanzibar experience was overwhelming for Singwa, Magwila and Zoe.
Last weekend our three employees, Singwa Mwenemilao (Iringa branch) Magwila Mwasyokea (Azikiwe branch), and Zoe Kafulusu (Kijitonyama branch) had an opportunity to visit Zanzibar for Sauti za Busara music festival after winning an internal Tisha na TemboCard challenge.?
?After four days of having fun in Zanzibar, Singwa shares her experience with us…?
?Sauti za Busara Festival?
Singwa and her friends pose for a group photo with our Group CEO & MD, Abdulmajid Nsekela, and COO, Bruce Mwile at Ngome Kongwe during Sauti za Busara music festival in Zanzibar. My
My friends and I were able to meet people from different parts of the world in Ngome Kongwe during the festival. It was nice to see people from different cultures enjoying African music to the fullest.
?Prison island?
We had an opportunity to feed the giant tortoises which were imported from Seychelles many years ago. We had a closer look at the prison where stubborn slaves were being kept. Generally, the history we learned was fascinating but the ride to and from the island was awesome!?

Spice farm?
Zanzibar was not called ‘The Spice Island’ for nothing. While at the spice farm, we were able to taste varieties like turmeric, cumin, cinnamon, and various fruits. My cooking game will be indeed upgraded!
?Stone Town Tour?
We wandered around Stone Town which according to UNESCO, is one of the oldest towns in the world where we were able to learn the history of various buildings. Those wooden doors with gorgeous decorations were quite an excitement.?
?Forodhani food?
If you visited Zanzibar without eating at Forodhani gardens then you haven’t enjoyed the spice island to the fullest. We were standing in front of those stalls with seafood, chicken Shawarma, urojo, Zanzibar Pizza and so many others, and we were confused not knowing what to eat. Chicken Shawarma was heaven on earth!?
?Slave monument?
We were able to pay our respects at the slaves' monument, and also we visited the old slave market and the house of David Livingstone who was an important figure in the abolition of the slave trade.?
?Generally, our trip to Zanzibar was extra special since I had an opportunity to reunite with my friends, Zoe and Magwila whom I haven’t met for a while. But I’m sure this trip was historical for Magwila who hasn’t been to Zanzibar before. So, it was nice to share this amazing experience with her.?
?I, on behalf of my friends, would like to extend my deepest appreciation to the bank for this amazing experience, courtesy of TemboCard VISA,?
