The Zambia Project
About ten years ago, The Zambia Project’s team visited a village close the border of Angola where they shared the gospel and planted a church. After much excitement about the Good News, the majority of the people in the village decided to follow Christ. Soon after, the Zambezi flooded, and the team couldn’t visit the village again for almost six months.??
‘When the floods subsided and we were able to cross over, we drove past this village, not recognising it. Over the period we were away there was such a genuine change in people’s hearts and minds that it was physically evident. We were amazed at the transformation in the village as houses were decorated with different colours of clay. Where they used to have relatively small crops out of fear of curses from jealous neighbours, now a field the size of a rugby field had been prepared for the rainy season. This was a direct result of people walking in a genuine relationship with Jesus. Even the animals were looking fatter and healthier!’ explains The Zambia Project’s Matt Mackie.??
