Zavos Architecture+Design, LLC (ZA+D)
Redesign the Building Potential
In July of 2023, ZA+D will enjoy its 20th Anniversary. In that time the firm has lived in 4 locations, had its period of growth, weathered some difficult markets. In honor of the 20th year, we are looking back at many projects that have left a mark on the City of Frederick.
Drive along either South or East Street from the southeast and you will know when you enter the city proper. The FCPS Central Office at the prominent gateway into Frederick is a undeniable landmark that ZA+D had the pleasure to design. The structure is concrete with precast, storefront, brick and aluminum wall panels adorning the exterior. The project's team was honored with the Associated Builders and Contractors Excellence in Construction Award in 2012.
This project met the requirements of the Carroll Creek Overlay District with many forms to break up the massive footprint, providing a variety of roof materials and shapes. One prominent feature is the board room for 300+ people.
