Zacapa Rum story by photographer Jacob Niblett
Jacob was commissioned to visit Guatemala last year for Zacapa Rum. Shooting alongside a film crew, the team were guided by Lorena Vasquez, the master blender of Ron Zacapa.
Taking in the environment and scenery as well as the local people, he captured the process and culture that goes into creating each bottle.
The ‘House Above the Clouds’ is the tasting house where the barrels age the rum for 23 years.
Jacob met the local patate weavers who make the bands that wrap around each bottle of rum, and photographed the sugar cane plantations where the process begins.
It's fair to say some of the product was sampled along the way....
