Yuri‘s Night 2022: Celebrating Space Exploration
We all know about space and the infinite universe that we have yet to fully discover, but most people are not aware of the important person that made space a less foreign subject for us to explore. This person is Yuri Gagarin, the astronaut that first set foot on the moon and pioneered space exploration for the world.?
Yuri Gagarin is the figure we all celebrate on the 12th of April every year, the day dubbed as Yuri’s Night or World Space Party for some. This is a day to celebrate the start of space exploration, and how far we’ve come to understand the universe. This celebration also serves as a reminder to everyone that being curious about the world can lead to great discoveries that will benefit everyone in the long run.
For years Yuri’s Night has helped to spread the awareness of space and universal exploration throughout the world. This day serves as a great way to expose children or the younger generation to the vastness of space and encourage them to continue to explore the world around them.?

In the spirit of Yuri’s Night, we can all do something space-related to have a further appreciation for Yuri Gagarin and his space exploration efforts. You could have a space documentary night, space movie night with your loved ones, or even a space costume party if you’re feeling extra.
If you want something more entertaining and lowkey, you could explore the various space-themed video games available on the market as well. We would recommend FTL: Faster Than Light, Mass Effect, Kerbal Space Program, No Man’s Sky, or even the classic Space Invaders.
Either way, let us all do our part in shedding light on the importance of space exploration and curiosity in general, especially for our budding astronauts and scientists out there. Let their imagination run wild and encourage their need to express themselves through exploration or experimentation. You never know what breakthrough our younger generation would have in store for us in the future.
To date, we have only discovered about 5% of the universe, making the possibilities for discovery and exploration endless. There’s still so much we do not know about what is out there, an endless string of possibilities to be curious about.
