NIPSCO Donates $25K in Essentials for Safe Station Shelter
We are deeply grateful to NIPSCO and the NiSource Charitable Foundation for their generous donation of $25,000 worth of housewarming items for the new Safe Station shelter. This incredible gift, including cozy seating, rugs, cushions, bedding, pillows, towels, and more, ensures that youth in crisis have the comfort ?and essentials they need in a warm, welcoming, and safe space.? Together, YSB and NIPSCO are investing in the lives of young people and empowering them to reach their full potential.
“By generously donating these items, NIPSCO provides a sense of dignity and belonging for young people in their most vulnerable moments.” -Christina McGovern, CEO
Take a virtual tour of our new Safe Station Shelter
The new Safe Station Shelter at the YSB Center for Youth Success is now open with 24/7 staff. Our shelter for youth offers safety, support, and hope for youth in crisis and is located at 411 Caterina Street, South Bend, Indiana near the corner of Hickory and McKinley.
Sometimes youth are in unsafe situations because of limited options.
We let our youth know that no matter the situation, no one has the right to force them to work or have sex for money, food, a place to live, or anything else.
