You've tried ChatGPT. Now see what else is out there to change how you market yourself.
Last week I caused a stir with the introduction of ChatGPT to my email list. It led to over 100 of you joining me on a webinar about it.?
But ChatGPT isn't the only magical digital service out there.
I've found three of them that I think you will be surprised by. And I have no connection with any of these tools at all. I just think they're brilliant.?
Let's go!
Generate a website in 30 seconds
I make websites for a living. I've produced over 3000 of them since 1996. I've used complicated tools like HTML, Joomla, WordPress and even the more simple tools like Wix and Squarespace.
None of them let me build the guts of a website in 30 seconds. Even with Google Sites, it will take me a few hours to really knock out a good site.
But 30 seconds? That's what?Durable?does.
This quick video shows you how quickly I was able to generate a new website that gave me something attractive that was on-topic and ready for me to put the details into.
This is a serious WTF moment for me. To create that layout, add dummy text, images and the elements that are included would have taken me at least an hour to begin with - and that's before I started tarting it up with my text and branding.
It's currently $9 (US) per month for the website bit and some limited CRM, invoicing and marketing tools. $39 (US) will get you the unlimited version. But you can start off by seeing how it works for free. That's all I did.?
I will be using it to generate ideas for websites I'll build later on other platforms, but for quick turnaround, I'd be tempted to use this for clients with smaller budgets.
Tools like these will probably end?my web design business, and I'm okay with that because I've got that new?public speaking training business?to tide me over.
Or maybe not…
AI coaches me on my Zoom calls
I had an hour-long client session on Thursday night. I got a solid 79/100 for my performance on it. Not bad.
But there's room for improvement. And that's what this tool called?Poised?does.
It coaches you in real-time on your Zoom calls.
It jumps in them while you're talking to tell you what you're doing right and wrong. Although the pic below wasn't of my call, I can tell you that my “hedging words” are “kind of” and “sort of."
My filler word of choice is “so.” I'm surprisingly good at not saying “um” or “ah” too often.
Oh, and I'm very good at not interrupting others who are speaking. So good for me!
The report you get after each call (I've got the basic version on an AppSumo lifetime plan that gives me an analysis of 5 meetings a week) gives me feedback on a bunch of key points of how I'm speaking on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and other video calls.
?For me, it's super useful when I'm doing presentations and webinars. It tells me if I'm speaking too fast or timid or using my hedge and filler words too much. It only records and listens to your voice. It ignores everyone else on the call. And they have no idea you're using it, because only you see the feedback on the screen.
So now that AI speaking coaches have also wiped out my brand new public speaking coaching business, perhaps there's hope for me to be able to do voiceover work, using my voice for ads, podcasts and training videos.
Oh wait….

I cloned my voice, and it's pretty darn good!
This company?from Melbourne has created some nifty tools for transcribing your voice and video recordings.
You can even use their range of AI voices to read your scripts if you think your voice is a little like the sound of fingernails being scraped down a chalkboard.
But this one special feature is what grabbed me.
I make tonnes of mistakes while recording my podcast. And I don't want to re-record the whole thing. I just want to correct that one word.
Descript's?way around this is for you to load up 10+ minutes of your own voice recordings to train its AI on what you sound like. It's private for your use. And once it knows your voice, you can use the AI to correct your wrong words seamlessly.
You just go into the text transcript of the recording, correct the words to what you meant to say, and your AI voice fills in the gap. And because it's been trained by your voice, it sounds exactly like you.
This means you can simply load up a script and ask Descript to make your AI clone voice read the whole thing out as well. Then export it and use it on videos, podcasts, and voice messages.
In this episode of my podcast, listen for when I finish speaking with my real voice and start using my AI voice. Listen from the 15-second mark through to around 25 seconds to be blown away by how similar the AI voice is to mine.
I now have an AI clone of my voice. Which both excites and terrifies me!
What's next?
One of the best quotes I've read about the impact of AI is this:
“If we do it right, we might be able to evolve a form of work that taps into our uniquely human capabilities and restores our humanity. The ultimate paradox is that this technology may become a powerful catalyst that we need to reclaim our humanity." - John Hagel
That's what I'm picturing. We've opened Pandora's box now. By the end of 2023, content creation will be dominated by AI. You'll be chatting with AI customer service. You'll be getting taught how to do things by an AI. And some of our big companies' more repetitive jobs will be replaced by AI.
This gives us an incredible opportunity to educate ourselves on taking what AI does and making it more human.
That's all for this weekend. Just one short read on three amazing AI tools that I've been learning about and using this week.
If you're not getting value out of these tips, please consider unsubscribing.
I won't mind and there are no hard feelings.
Alternatively, if you are enjoying this newsletter, the best compliment you could pay me would be to?share it with one person?who you think would benefit from it.
See you again next week.
Cheers,

P.S. When you're ready, here's a few ways I can help out.
The way we use social media as business is changing. Reach is dead. And we only have some much time to be creating TikToks and Reels videos. What is the alternative. It's surprisingly low-key and low-commitment. My live stream on YouTube is coming up on January 25 - and it's free.
I'm an introvert. And even though it's hard to believe that, it's true. I've had to put in place a LOT of strategies to get past my automatic nature to sit in the background. In this YouTube video from last week, I show how we introverts can be more confident online.
This time of the year is a little quieter, which means I've got more availability to chat to you about your business and your digital struggles. I give everyone who wants it 15 minutes to see what we can pull off… and if you need more time I've got options for you as well. Get started on your free 15 minutes at the button below.
