If you've lost your mojo, here are 10 steps to get it back.

If you've lost your mojo, here are 10 steps to get it back.

Ever felt like you’ve hit a wall, your spark fizzling out, and everything just feels like one giant slog?

Yep, this happened to me in 2017 and I lost my drive and my energy.

Losing your mojo is like driving a car on an empty tank - you’re still moving, but it’s a matter of time before you sputter to a stop.

What is Mojo, and Why Do We Need It?

Mojo is that inner drive and enthusiasm that keeps us motivated and passionate about what we do. It’s the energy that propels us forward and helps us tackle challenges head-on. Without it, life can feel draining and lacking in fun and excitement about the future.

The longer you let it slide, the more disconnected and demotivated you become.

Tasks that used to be easy now feel impossible, and the things that once brought you joy no longer do.

And the worse thing you can do is ignoring it, as it inevitably will lead to burnout, unhappiness, loneliness and lack of fulfilment.

But fear not! I've been there and I know exactly what will help you get your mojo back and get it back strong.

Poll I ran last week - 18% of you want to get your mojo back

?

Here are the 10 steps that worked for me:

Step 1: Self-Reflect (a.k.a. The Honest Talk)

First things first, grab your favourite beverage, sit somewhere quiet, and have an honest conversation with yourself.

Questions you can ask yourself:

  1. What changed?
  2. When did you start feeling this way?
  3. What specific events or situations triggered this?

Sometimes, identifying the cause can be half the battle. Maybe it is burnout, maybe it is boredom, or maybe you are going through a period of stagnation, or it’s just life throwing you a curveball.

Whatever it is, acknowledge it.

Step 2: Set Small, Achievable Goals

What are your goals regarding your health and wellbeing this year?

If you want to be happy and full of energy, you need to work towards it.

It won't happen by itself. Set yourself some goals.

Break down your tasks into bite-sized, manageable chunks.

Celebrate every tiny win.?

Each little success is a step towards climbing out of the funk and regaining your confidence.

(It's much easier when having a coach with you on this journey, as they can keep you focused and accountable.)

Step 3: Get Moving (Literally)?

Staying stagnant physically (and mentally) is a mojo killer.?

Get your body and mind moving!

Go for a walk, hit the gym, dance in your living room like no one’s watching.?

Physical activity and exercise is very effective in boosting your mood.

If you are 35+, you will benefit from exercising every day!

A happier you is a more motivated you.

Step 4: Reconnect with What You Love

Remember that hobby you abandoned because, well, life happened?

It is time to reignite that passion.

Whether it’s painting, playing the guitar, gardening, or diving back into what makes your heart sing.

?Step 5: Stay Curious

?Keep learning and exploring. Keep your mind active.

Whether it is a new skill, a new book, or a new place, stay curious.

New experiences can reignite your passion and zest for life.

Step 6: Prioritise Self-Care (No, It’s Not Overrated)

Self-care isn’t just bubble baths and candles (though those are awesome too).

It’s about doing whatever you need to recharge.

Read a book, meditate, take a long bath, or simply get a good night’s sleep. A well-rested and rejuvenated you is a mojo-magnet.

Read the 7 types of rest we all need.

Step 7: Embrace the Chaos

Life is messy, unpredictable, and sometimes downright annoying.

Embrace it. Accept that not everything will go according to plan, and that’s okay.

Flexibility is key. Sometimes, just rolling with the punches can help you find your groove again.

Step 8: Be Kind to Yourself

We are often our harshest critics.

?Cut yourself some slack. Practice self-love.

?It’s okay to not be at 100% all the time.

Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding you would offer a friend going through a tough time.

Step 9: Change the Scenery

?A change of environment can do wonders.

Rearrange your workspace, visit a new café, or even take a mini-vacation if you can.

New surroundings can spark new ideas and inspirations.

Step 10: Talk It Out

You don’t have to go through this alone.

Reach out to friends, family.

Or better reach out to a coach.

A coach can help you step back and look at your challenges from fresh perspectives.

Sometimes, just talking about how you’re feeling can lift a massive weight off your shoulders and help you move away from feeling stuck and overwhelmed.

Remember, losing your mojo is a signal that you need a reset.

Follow these steps, and before you know it, you’ll be back, stronger and more fired up than ever.

?So, here’s to getting our mojo back and embracing life and everything it has to offer with open arms.

Imagine how amazing it would feel like if you 100% knew you could transform your life in the next 3-6 months?

Imagine waking up next week with a sense of excitement and enthusiasm because you know you are doing everything you can to get your health and life back on track. And you'll have the support you need whenever you face challenges and setbacks.

Imagine taking back control of your happiness and your work-life balance.

Imagine falling in love with yourself and life and everything it has to offer again.
