You've Lost So Much....Of You

You've Lost So Much....Of You

It has been said, and it is true, everyone you meet is struggling. Death and loss come in many different forms. It can be the straight up death of a loved one or it can be a loss of a job, or a divorce. It can be a series of betrayals through addiction or the rejection of a dream because you didn’t fit the mold. Maybe the only thing you have ever yearned for was peace ~ yet it has alluded you just one too many times. Now you are numb. You may have trusted the wrong people in a business deal and wound up wondering how such an intelligent person such as yourself was completely bamboozled.

It nips away at the centre of your confidence, and in the process, everything else changes. You stopped exercising since you were greeted by exhaustion each sleepless night’s morning. Hence, the scale is no longer your friend.  Everyone has a version of understanding when it comes to you and not one is right but you adhere to each skewed version because something has to feel normal. These same people tell you what they need from you but no one chooses to see you’re empty.

One day you wake up and you realize you are mourning you. The part of you that you lost when you buried your Mom. Or were banished from a best friend with no reason why. You grieve for the child in you that grew up far before you were ready to leave those innocent years behind. You yearn for the trust you doubt you’ll ever find or the love you will never know. You wonder why you were never chosen over a case of beer or corporate shares, or an after-hours meeting arrangement.

There comes this day where you realize that when you lost love, life and security….parts of you went with them. You’ve been grieving, sometimes in triplicate!

You may not be able to get the job back. You may not want to get the spouse back. Do you want the friend that abandoned you back? You will carry all of the loved one that died with you forever. What you need back is a full-bodied you. Just as love comes in all forms, so does death. However, if you are reading this, you can resurrect and revitalize to where you need to be.
