Sometimes when returning from a break, you may feel a little bit depressed to go back to work. You may feel somewhat unmotivated and you may even consider leaving your job. Do not worry! This is normal and it is referred to as " post-vacation" depression.
Why do I feel like this?
The reasons behind this feeling varies;
1- Could be that you have a stressful job.
2- You don't have work\life balance.
3- You feel dissatisfied with your life.
What can we do about this?
1-Take it easy:
Ease into your routine, take it slow and do not force any huge changes or pressure yourself to implement "new habits". This could lead into opposite results as it may cause you to being overwhelmed and stressed.
2-Plan out fun weekends:

Plan fun activities to do on the weekends; that could include activities like meeting family or friends, going out to restaurants, having a movie night or attending social events.
3-Manage your work\life balance:
Many people become so accustomed to work stress that they don't think to address it. You could try discussing the pressures you are under with your manager. You might also suggest ways to reduce stress, such as flexible work hours, sharing tasks, or working remotely.
4-Connect with colleagues over coffee:
Take a few minutes each day to step away from your work and enjoy a cup of coffee with your favorite colleagues. You can chat, share your thoughts, and build stronger relationships in a relaxed and informal setting. Consider taking a walk while you talk for a change of scenery and added benefit.
By following these strategies, you can better manage your post vacation depression and make yourself feel content and motivated to go to work. Here is to overcoming the holiday blues.
