You've not charged me enough!

You've not charged me enough!

You’ve not charged me enough?

A call that you don’t receive every day but do get quite a few times.

Doesn’t it seem strange that customers call to say they’ve not been charged enough?

A very loyal customer to me now in his early 80’s who was probably one of earliest customers when I went into selling cars at my previous dealership. It was back in 1983 when we first met when I sold him a Volvo 340, he bought a couple more from me while I was there and then when I started on my own, he continued to trade with me. A brand-new Volkswagen Polo then a specific Toyota Yaris I sourced for him.

Sadly, he’s had to give up driving due to his eyesight beginning to fail, his son will be taking over the polo in a couple of weeks coming from Suffolk to collect it, as he’s not been using it and tried to start it was pretty dead!

We went out to recover it from his home, tested the battery, replaced it, full safety check cleaned and returned so it’s all ready for his son to take over.

He called me say he didn’t think I had changed him enough for all the work and apologised that he’d obviously no longer be a customer as the car would out of the area.

I thanked him for being such a loyal customer to me and all the support over the years, I was happy charging him what we did, and I wouldn’t take a penny more.

It’s never been about money to me with my customers, look after them and they look after you.
