If you’ve been affected by cancer
Dr Erin Hope Thompson MBE
Clinical Psychologist / CEO of The Loss Foundation / Associate Clinical Tutor / Winston Churchill Fellow
When I lost my dad to lung cancer in 2010, I really wobbled.
Then, I discovered a complete lack of support.
In my grief, I made it my mission to find a way of providing the support that would have made such an enormous difference to me when I was struggling. I founded The Loss Foundation, which has been supporting hundreds of people a year, soon to be thousands, when they have lost a loved one to cancer.
Now it’s our turn to ask for help.
As a small charity, we have always punched above our weight and – with the help of our amazing volunteers – somehow made our shoestring budgets stretch far enough. But right now, we’re facing a serious funding shortfall and we urgently need to raise £20,000 to stay up and running into 2020.
This Christmas, please give what you can to our 20 for 20 appeal.
The money raised will mean we can continue to offer the therapy groups, retreats, workshops and get-togethers (for free) that mean people are not alone when grieving loved ones to cancer. Without urgent support, our future is under threat.
If you’ve been affected by cancer, yourself or among your friends and family, please give what you can and share this message with your own network.
