YouTube Adds New “Website Visits” Goal for Creators

YouTube has introduced a new feature in YouTube Studio called “website visits,” designed to help creators drive traffic to their websites and grow their audience.?

Key Updates ??

  1. New Goal Option: Creators can now set a goal to drive website visits through their video promotions. This means you can now specifically target people who are likely to visit your site, not just watch your videos.
  2. Ad Formats: Ads can appear in various formats like Shorts, in-feed ads, and skippable in-stream ads, all labelled as “Sponsored.” This flexibility allows you to choose the format that best fits your content and audience.
  3. Data Privacy: The engagement from these ads won’t affect your eligibility for the YouTube Partner Program, which means your focus can remain on driving website traffic rather than just increasing video views.
  4. Streamlined Targeting: You can target your ads based on specific countries and languages, helping you reach the right audience for your business more effectively.

Takeaway for Businesses:

Use YouTube’s new “website visits” goal to turn video views into website traffic.

This feature helps you promote your products or services directly from your channel and reach potential customers more efficiently.

Meta Shares Christmas Marketing Checklist

With the festive season fast approaching, it's time to finalise your holiday marketing plans to make the most of this busy period.

If you're planning to run promotions on Facebook or Instagram, Meta has put together a handy checklist to help you maximise your holiday marketing efforts.

Key Steps to Boost Your Christmas Campaigns:

  1. Start Early: Begin your advertising campaigns in September to capture early shoppers. Early planning helps you get ahead of the competition and attract customers before the holiday rush.
  2. Create Seasonal Content: Develop a curated holiday gift guide or seasonal catalogue. This helps your audience easily find and buy gifts from your business.
  3. Test Your Ads: Create different types of ads—like videos, images, and carousels—and test them to see which ones perform best. This helps you avoid ad fatigue and improve your campaign's effectiveness.
  4. Use Meta’s Tools: Leverage Meta’s Advantage+ shopping campaigns to drive online sales and reach new customers. Set up Advantage+ catalogue ads to show relevant products to people who’ve visited your website.
  5. Engage with Your Audience: Use mobile-friendly video ads and reels to capture attention. Also, interact with customers through Messenger, Instagram Direct, or WhatsApp to build stronger connections.
  6. Prepare for Lead Ads: Collect potential customer information before the busy season starts. This allows you to retarget these leads with holiday promotions when the season kicks off.

Takeaway:

You're likely to be aware of some of these tips, but they are worth bearing in mind now that autumn is upon us and we enter Q4.

Don’t let the festive season catch you off guard, as it’s a great opportunity to meet quarterly, or even yearly, targets.

Google’s New “Confidential Matching” for Ads: What You Need to Know ??

Google is introducing a new feature called “confidential matching” in its Google Ads platform to help businesses reach the right audience while respecting data privacy.

This tool uses a secure system called Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) to combine your business data with Google’s insights without exposing personal details.

Simply put, Google is making it easier for you to target your ideal customers, while keeping sensitive information safe.

Even Google’s own staff can’t access or change the data within these secure environments.

For businesses with strict data policies, you can even encrypt your information before sending it to Google.

As data privacy laws become stricter and consumers seek more transparency, it's crucial for advertisers that Google Ads platforms offer an easy way to ensure data handling complies with all security regulations.

Worth noting

If you’re already using Google Ads, this update happens automatically, with no action required.

TikTok Introduces ‘Delete and Re-Edit’ Feature for Videos ??

TikTok is testing a new feature that allows users to undo edits made to videos within the app.

The "Delete and Re-Edit" option will let you start fresh with your video project, making it easier to tweak or completely change your clip without starting from scratch.?

example, posted by

This feature is handy for those who edit directly in TikTok but won't apply to videos edited in third-party apps like CapCut.?

Of course, if you have the original video in your camera roll, you can already just delete it and start again.

But If you’ve been capturing and editing your clips within TikTok, this update could save you time and effort.
