In the bustling world of digital content creation, Bhuvan Bam stands as a shining example of innovation and creativity. From his humble beginnings as a content creator on YouTube to his current status as an actor and influencer, Bhuvan has captured the hearts of millions with his relatable characters and witty storytelling. However, behind the scenes, Bhuvan is also making waves in the realm of intellectual property (IP) protection, taking proactive steps to safeguard his creative legacy.
Recently, Bhuvan made headlines by officially trademarking one of his most beloved characters from BB Ki Vines, Titu Mama. In a candid conversation, Bhuvan shares his motivations behind this significant milestone. "We have been trying hard to get trademarks for all our characters because of the vision we have for our BB Ki Vines universe. This is the first step towards that, and this universe is like the Avengers for me," he explains. It's clear that Bhuvan sees his characters not just as entertainment but as valuable intellectual property that deserves protection.
Titu Mama, in particular, holds a special place in Bhuvan's heart. Beyond his appearances on BB Ki Vines, Titu Mama has ventured into other mediums, including a Hindi adaptation of Takeshi’s Castle and a chat show titled Titu Talks. However, with fame comes challenges, and Bhuvan recounts instances of plagiarism and unauthorized performances. "Now, with this authority, we can also do live events as Titu Mama. There is a lot of chance for plagiarism with such characters," he laments. This trademark serves as a shield against such misuse, establishing Bhuvan's ownership over his creative property.
Emphasizing the importance of trademarks in the age of social media, Bhuvan highlights the need for creators to protect their intellectual property. "You never know where your content is being circulated and how people are using it. So, it’s important to get your Intellectual Property registered," he advises. This rings especially true in today's digital landscape, where content can spread like wildfire across various platforms, often without proper attribution to the original creator.

Bhuvan also draws attention to a recent incident involving actor Scarlett Johansson, whose voice was used through Artificial Intelligence (AI) without her consent. This serves as a cautionary tale for creators everywhere, highlighting the potential risks of unauthorized use of their likeness or voice. With the trademark for Titu Mama, Bhuvan aims to leverage AI technology to further enhance the character's presence. "Now that I have this trademark, I will try my best to create AI around Titu Mama’s voice. It becomes exclusive, no one else can do that," he explains. However, he remains grounded in his belief that human artists will always hold a special place in the creative process. "AI can deliver to a certain extent, but it cannot replace artists. They will always be superior because artists have emotions," he asserts.
