YouTube is now a household name in the life of The Indian Freelancer and offers a lot of hope for a long-lasting and stable income source. When more and more freelancers and online entrepreneurs are taking to YouTube these days, YouTube, on the other hand, is trying to coerce the small YouTubers out of the system with their updates on Monetization and their YouTube Partner Program (YPP). Yesterday, I received an email from YouTube for my channel - The Indian Freelancer, with a 30 Days Monetization Termination Notice.
The email that I got from YouTube says that they are introducing this new policy where a YouTube channel will be monetized only if it has got 1,000 Subscribers and 4,000 Hours of watch time in the last 12 Months! This rule applies to both existing and new channels and will be implemented on February 20, 2018 - which gives me only 30 days to work and get to the threshold as mentioned in the policy.
This is going to directly impact my small channel. It will impact all the existing small channels as well, I feel. And the new YouTubers need to work much harder to get their videos monetized. YouTube says that this step is taken to remove impersonators and spammers from YouTube and I hope they succeed in their venture. We, the small & aspiring YouTubers will have to go through a little phase of turmoil if I am allowed to use that word; but we should take it as a challenge and move forward. What say?
I have actually made a video with the details where I show the email that I got and their official blog. You can get the links in the description of the video on my YouTube Channel.

Hope this helps you in understanding the updated policy. If you are a YouTuber, this is something you must know! And once you have checked the video, do let me know in your comments how this new policy is going to challenge your YouTube career. I would love to know.
Thanks for your time, reading this article. Do share with your friends who are working and putting their effort in growing their own YouTube Channel.
