Another day, another battle of the platforms. But this one is unique in that not only has YouTube announced an extensive ad revenue share program, but it's coupled with a first-of-its-kind music initiative. YouTube has notoriously been the legacy winner when it came to paying content creators on its platform which is why this week's announcement has such legs.
The use of music and licensing overall has always been a gray area on social media platforms, especially considering how synonymous short-form video is with audio and music in general.
YouTube has created what seems like?a win-win for all involved - the platform, the Creators, and the music industry.
