India has the potential to lead the world if it strategically channelizes the energy of youth in a constructive way. There are number of programmes initiated to tap their potential and empower them to contribute more aggressively than ever before, but still at the ground level lot is yet to be done.
Every day lost is adding to frustration of the hyperactive youth brigade, which is exposed heavily to outer world. This directionless exposure has the potential to built in them the unachievable aspiration and create expectations beyond control. That is dangerous call, as that would result into destructive contribution. The population share of the youth in the country is so immense that youth going haywire can reverse the growth in a dangerous proportion. And if they are made to realise their worth and encouraged to chip in their share in development, no one can stop the country from growing leaps and bounds.
Are all Stakeholders that serious? Are they committed to their role? Questions are not required to be answered but to be ensured in the system!

7 年I agree that the role of the youth in India is a critical factor that will decide its growth and development in the coming decades significantly. And when we speak of the youth, we are speaking of strata that is divergent depending on their social and economic status, and there are widening inequalities in education, income, opportunities and power. The youth must struggle with these struggles, and those in disadvantaged strata have to struggle with their alienation from the system which are extremely vulnerable to political manipulations (not only mainstream party politics, but politics of the disgruntled groups, insurgencies, separatists, the anti establishment groups and ultra left groups. A question on commitment and motivation among stakeholders to help harness and channelise the youth energy of the country is a complex one, one that cannot be responded to in a short capsule. What would be of interest to me (and I suspect others) are the observations, experiences of the Nehru Yuva Kendras on where this is happening or not, and what the Sangathan has to say to the various stakeholders. Is there any report to this effect?
