“If youth knew; if age could” Sigmund Freud

Life is a puzzle. Every single day that passes, another piece of the puzzle falls into place. It is as though you have to live your whole life until you have figured it out, and only then a more complete picture becomes clear in front of your eyes.

We have all had conversations with the elderly maybe a grandparent or a neighbor. I am certain that you realized that they are full of wisdom and life lessons. Our lives teach us lessons that most often come late and at the expense of lost years, lost relationships or lost opportunities.

By the time essential life saving lessons have been learned, some people are too old to benefit from them, some have lost their enthusiasm towards life, or unwilling to give it a new try, and others adopted negativity as their normal thought pattern, expecting the worst and too stuck to even contemplate a change.

There is no denying that the best lessons learned in life are those acquired through our own personal experiences, but the question is, at what COST? Can we afford to gamble with our lives, the most precious gift given to us? We can save ourselves a lot of disappointment by taking the backseat and observing the past experiences of others, learning from their life lessons and mistakes, and adopting them as our own.

History repeats itself quite often. When we are aware of life's up and downs, we are bound to be more open to the idea of change one of life's most demanding words...
