Youth Homelessness Down, Thanksgiving Project Serves 20,000 Families, and Eversource Partnership Powers Critical Assistance.

Boston Public Schools was one of the many neighbors and partners who joined together to support United Way’s Thanksgiving Project, which provided more than 20,000 families with Thanksgiving meals this season.

November is also National Homeless Youth Awareness month, a perfect time to share the news that youth and young adult homelessness has fallen 44% in the last three years, thanks to our Rising to the Challenge plan in partnership with the City of Boston and the Liberty Mutual Foundation.

United Way Thanksgiving Project Serves More Families Than Ever Before

With an overwhelming show of support from our incredible volunteers, corporate and agency partners, community leaders and elected officials, our largest-ever Thanksgiving Project provided holiday meal essentials to 20,000 families at 24 distribution sites across 21 communities. The day also included participation from U.S. Rep Katherine Clark and many other government leaders.

How Youth and Young Adult Homelessness Dropped 44% in 3 Years

Since 2019, there has been a 44% reduction in homelessness among youth and young adults in the City of Boston.
