Be Yourself.......
After reading a post by one of my favorite friends, Natalie Sunflower, it reminded me of something I very much wanted to share. My second duty station of my Army career put out in the desert at Fort Irwin, California. One great Soldier I worked with there, was a hard charging young lady that shot up through the ranks. I had no ide I would run into her again as an instructor 10 years later. Of course I congratulated her and praised her on her accomplishment.
We talked a great deal about everything that had been going on the past 10 years. Other than myself there were 2 other students at this particular school I was attending. My old friend told me, those 2 guys have changed so much since I last saw them. Then she told me, "John, you have not changed at all" Hearing this made me feel pretty good. Now that I am in my mid 50's I still love to do many of the same things I loved to do 30 and 40 years ago. Of course I have different responsibilities, but I often try to be me. My sister, less than a year younger than me, still calls me crazy, says to me, "you're a nut" and a few others.
If anyone out there does not like you the way you are, do yourself a favor and avoid that person. Rest assured, if you try to do right and go to work everyday, do onto others as you would want done onto you, in the eyes of God you are in the right. Mayb once in a while help someone that needs help. Bless you my friends, and please keep being yourself, because that is who you were meant to be.
