You're Not Too Old To Do A Great Job But Your Resume/ Search Strategies Are Too Weak To Get It

It's frustrating applying for jobs as an age 40, 50, or 60+ job seeker. You're applying for jobs that you know you would be a great choice to hire.

But you're not getting many interviews for those jobs, and when you do, you're not advancing. The few times you've advanced in the hiring process, a younger, less experienced candidate was chosen.

You know you could have done a far superior job than the kid that was hired. And it keeps happening ...

It's common for age 40+ job seekers to feel that employers should hire the candidate who would be best at doing the job.

Unfortunately, that often doesn't happen, because most employers instead choose the candidate who sells themself most effectively, rather than the person who could actually do the job best.

So what can you do about it? As it turns out, there's plenty that you can do about it ...

While few employers have an ingrained hatred of more senior candidates, they are biased against average resumes, average interviews and average job searches.

They are especially biased against average, when it's delivered by a candidate they expect will be more expensive - More expensive and average is a job-killing combination for you.

Yet, this is exactly how most age 40, 50, and 60+ job seekers present themselves. But it's been so ingrained in how you've been taught to describe your career, that you probably don't even realize the way you're selling yourself to employers portrays you as expensive, weak and risky.

This also increases the risk (are you worth your higher expense?) you present to employers. So instead, given the choice between an average/expensive candidate and an average/less expensive candidate, employers usually hire the less expensive, and less experienced candidate They present a lower risk than you, because they are cheaper even though they also appear average.

The good news is, this is something you can control and change. You can learn how to make age your superpower, rather than something you try to hide.

Instead, let me show you how to prove overwhelming success to hiring managers, to make you show you're too good to ignore, make your age irrelevant, and present yourself as a steal compared to the performance you can deliver ... during my next free Resume Webinar – Beating Job Search Ageism.
