If you're not sure your lone workers can rely on the cell network... test it!

If you're unsure of how reliable the cell cover is where you want lone worker protection, you should test the device there. Our new client, QM (Quality Marshalling) do a lot of work with the Port and they didn't know if they could trust the cell network in all the areas. We sent our demo EGIS down to them and they wore it around. The EGIS has a super antenna so tends to work in patchy areas. We downloaded the data and could see it didn't miss a beat. EGIS polls every 1min so that even if you went out of view of the sky, we can find you through the breadcrumb trail. The screen shot below provided good visual verification for the staff that they can rely on it when they are alone (the green dots are the 1min polls, the yellow dot is where the device was taken off charge). Street addresses sent by GPS devices is of little use in environments such as the Port so we will create fast links for each device to enable QM to get immediate location information with satellite view if they are contacted by our operators in an event. We will never supply a solution we don't think is going to truly deliver safety, and we are always happy to help with the investigation. That's true safety, and all staff engaged and onboard. We will train their staff next week and they will have Guardian Angel Peace of Mind over the holiday period. www.guardianangelsecurity.co.nz +64 9 480 0860
