You’re Paying for a Team That’s Costing You Money — Fix It Today

How many times have you thought,?“It’s just easier if I do it myself”?

?

I get it.

?

Teams can feel like your biggest headache.

But they’re also your biggest opportunity.

?

Here’s the reality:

?

Most teams operate at?60% capacity or less. Not because they’re lazy.

But because?you assume they know what to do—and they don’t.

?

This week, I worked with a client who was drowning in her business.

?

Cashflow was tight.

Her team felt like a liability, not an asset.

And she was doing everything herself.

?

We made one change:

?

She pulled her marketing and sales team into a meeting.

Set clear expectations.

Asked for their ideas.

Then put them to work.

The next day, she texted me:

“My team is incredible.”

?

Within 48 hours, they were already landing new clients and building momentum.

(Momentum, by the way, is the?life blood of business.)

?

Here’s what you need to know:

?

Your team isn’t the problem—your?communication?is.

?

Here’s how to fix it:

?

Set crystal-clear expectations.

What needs to get done, how to do it, and exactly when it’s due.

?

Give real-time feedback.

Fix mistakes on the spot. Praise wins in public. Keep accountability alive.

?

Document everything.

Use Loom, checklists, or workflows so no one can say, “I didn’t know.”

?

Follow up relentlessly.

Accountability isn’t micromanagement—it’s leadership.

?

A mentor once told me:

?

"Without your team, your business is nothing."

?

If you’re doing everything yourself, you’re not running a business—you’re running yourself into the ground.

?

Lead better. Communicate clearer.

And give your team no room to fail.

Because when your team wins, so do you.

?

P.S.?By the way, if you’re drowning in your team’s constant questions, shoot me a DM. I’d love to share my go-to strategy for helping people think for themselves—it’s a game changer.

Love this Michael Clift . So true.. whilst you’ll never get 100% of what you would have done yourself you’ll never scale without a team to do the things you can’t do, won’t do and shouldn’t do.
