Why so?
Individuals vary, but overall I find Americans so easily communicate encouragement, appreciation and support when they like something. They are open to letting their intentions be read like a book and don't hesitate to just get on with things. It makes them so inspiring and straight forward to deal with too. Yes, of course, there are people like that everywhere and I meet them all the time, but I mostly find this mentality in the US.
So, this short post is a tribute to Americans based some favourite experiences
David E Carter is a marketing and design guru with degrees from Kentucky University, Syracuse and Harvard plus a host of awards including a Clio in advertising and 7 Emmy awards for his innovative work in TV, to mention just a pinch. Many of you will know him.
It was a significant credit therefore, when David chose no less than 13 images of my paper sculptures to be published in a book he edited called, "The Big Book of Design Ideas", published by HBI, (HarperCollins). If he chose even one image I would have been mighty proud, but he proved 13 is a very lucky number!
I also have somewhere in the order of 16 various awards for my paper sculptures from competitions, all in the United States, so little wonder for my affections. Not to overlook my sentiments for the successful relationships I've enjoyed working with people from other parts of the globe too, it was just time to show my special recognition for the US.
Thank you America.
That said, as the pages of a new year open, may the future for everyone the world over be peaceful, happy and prosperous
