Hello,
Here are 1 Thought, 1 Quote, 1 Word & 1 Humour for you to reflect upon this week...
1.
Thought
I love reading books on human psychology and behaviour. Children's books by Dr. Seuss hold a special affection in my heart. The author's style of using rhyme, repetition and rhythm was not just great for children to learn language skills but also left them with a subtle lesson in human behaviour.
I still like to read them as an adult :) and if you haven't read one, do try one of these - Green eggs and ham, The Lorax, If i ran the zoo.
'You're off to great places....', 'coz reading is such a powerful tool that allows you to peek into the mind of the author, learn something about someone or your own self and sometimes even get away from your little world into the world that the author is weaving.
If you like books, then i'm sure you can relate to this.
If you don't, then here's a Dr. Seuss message for you - "You do not like them. So you say. Try them! Try them! And you may!"
Leaving you to ponder over these thoughts for some self-reflective nourishment this week.
1. What are some books that have greatly influenced your life?
2. What is the book or books you've given most as a gift, and why?

“Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.”

Word
accismus
[axis-mus]
(n.) A form of irony in which someone feigns indifference to something he or she desires.
like in the Aesop’s fable? The Fox and the Grapes?which illustrates accismus when the fox dismisses some grapes he is unable to reach, stating that he is sure they are sour anyway.

1 年I like his quote "The more that you read, the more things you will know. ..."
Loved the Humor image. I am possessive about my books so for me the last section changes to - "Will you return it?" -> "Certainly!" -> "I don't trust you!" -> "No" ??
