Whenever a new ecommerce brand approaches us to take a look at their analytics, we hope to see great results.


A prospect that approached us last week was doing quite well.


They were tracking both ROAS and ROI within Google Analytics and that is a good start.


So a good start for anyone running an eCom business would be to track ROAS and ROI within GA itself.


But of course that is just a starting point.


They need to use session replay tools like Hotjar or Fullstory to visualize how users navigate your website to identify friction points.


Another great way to check where users click and scroll to understand attention patterns and optimize page layout would be to use Crazy Egg or Lucky Orange.


All eCom operators know that the highest conversions come from email marketing and you can group customers by behavior and demographics for targeted ad campaigns and email marketing using Klaviyo or Mailchimp Pro.


Yotpo and Criteo are other tools that you should be using to showing personalized product suggestions based on browsing history and past purchases.


Despite spending money on search engines and social media campaigns, almost 70% of shoppers abandon their carts and you can automate personalized emails to remind customers about items left in their carts using Klaviyo and Omnisend.


Once you have lined up these tools, you can use multi-touch attribution models to go beyond last-click attribution to understand how different touchpoints contribute to conversions using Google Attribution and Singular.


You can also analyze customer behavior based on acquisition date to identify trends and predict future performance using Google Analytics Premium and Amplitude.


The single biggest factor that will determine the long term success of your eCom business is predicting the long-term revenue potential of your customers to optimize acquisition and retention strategies.
